Job Description: Preschool English Teacher

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Early Childhood Education Specialist to join our team at MINDCHAMPS PRESCHOOL @ JURONG WEST PTE. LTD.

Key Responsibilities:
  • CURRICULUM:
  • Establish effective communication with families regarding our educational approach.
  • Create and maintain a developmentally appropriate learning environment indoors and outdoors.
  • Demonstrate understanding of curriculum rationale and adapt materials as needed.
  • Engage children in exploratory activities using various materials and equipment.
  • Adjust schedules to meet individual children's needs.
  • Develop strategies based on children's interests, needs, and temperaments.
  • Facilitate child-initiated and adult-facilitated activities and interactions.
  • Maintain warm, positive, nurturing, and respectful relationships with children.
  • Select from a range of positive guidance techniques.
  • Support children's learning by allowing them time to grasp concepts or practice skills.
  • Recognize the importance of observing and documenting children's learning.
  • Contribute ongoing observations to understand children's behavior while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Orient yourself towards children's relationships and involvement with each other.
  • CONNECTING WITH FAMILIES:
  • Maintain confidentiality and ensure privacy when communicating with families and colleagues.
  • Share information and relevant resources with families about the curriculum, daily activities, and progress on a regular basis.
  • Build and sustain respectful relationships with families that leverage their strengths and capacities.
  • CENTRE OPERATIONS:
  • Demonstrate ability to work effectively with colleagues, children, families, and others.
  • Adhere to staff rosters and class timetables.
  • Embody the centre's vision, mission, and core values.
  • Commit to providing high-quality care and education for children.
  • Recognize the importance of supporting diverse needs through partnership with families.
  • HEALTH AND SAFETY:
  • Ensure Champs' safety in all areas and activities.
  • Guarantee proper hygiene practices among Champs.
  • Comply with safety and hygiene regulations in the classroom.
  • Report any damage or safety hazards to the VP/P.
  • Maintain cleanliness throughout the centre.
  • Lead the class during fire evacuation exercises and account for all Champs.
  • Display food allergies prominently.
  • Practice good hygiene among staff and children.
  • Supervise Champs at all times.
  • Maintain focus on caregiving responsibilities rather than other tasks or interests.
Skills and Qualifications:

You possess excellent childcare, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills. You also have experience in teaching, classroom management, early childhood education, first aid, writing, and being accountable. As a well-being-focused team player, you thrive in environments where collaboration and mutual respect are valued.
