Job Description

The Trade Operations Analyst is responsible for managing middle-office tasks in support of traders, including real-time position reconciliation, trade confirmation, reporting, exercise and assignment notifications, brokerage tracking and reconciliation, and miscellaneous exchange-related inquiries.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work alongside experienced traders to gain an unparalleled knowledge of our proprietary systems.
  • Must be a self-motivated, quick learner who utilizes various technologies that evolve frequently.
  • Analyze and produce or assist in production of automation tools to increase firm efficiency and accuracy.
  • Use scripts and queries to research and analyze reconciliation issues.
  • Identify and implement technology and process improvement opportunities.
  • Assist with position management, trade checks, t+1 reconciliation, and trade post-execution.
  • Ensure that all trades have been reconciled appropriately.
  • Review and reconcile invoices from brokers to ensure accuracy.
  • Maintain Python scripting to parse brokerage invoices for review.
  • Track and evaluate credit requests from brokerages.
  • Continuously communicate and coordinate with the Chicago team and technology departments.
  • Be an independent leader on projects that improve our trading operations management.
  • Learn trading concepts and options theory taught in Belvedere's extensive education program.
  • Monitor overnight risk for desks trading afterhours with in-house & 3rd party Risk Software.
  • Escalate risk issues to trading desks for them to address.
  • Generate risk reports to assist traders when needed.
  • Support trading desk with adjusting pre-trade software safety settings where appropriate.
