Physiotherapist Role

The physiotherapist will conduct thorough patient assessments, acquire knowledge, and put a care plan into action to help patients manage their pain and/or disability and restore or enhance their functional capacities.

This role is responsible for conducting patient assessments, developing treatment plans, informing patients on their condition, methods for self-management, and injury prevention. Physiotherapists must also track patient development, record results, and modify treatment regimens as necessary. They work collaboratively with doctors, nurses, and other medical specialists to provide comprehensive treatment.

To succeed in this role, candidates must have a Bachelor's Degree in Physiotherapy and registration with the Singapore Physiotherapy Board. A minimum of 2 years of experience is required, along with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

As a physiotherapist, one must uphold a high standard of professionalism and patient care, adhering to the principles set forth by the Singapore Physiotherapy Association (SPA). Key skills and qualifications include ability to work independently, quality improvement skills, interpersonal skills, treatment planning and execution, healthcare management, rehabilitation techniques, prevention strategies, nursing and statistics.
