Maritime Optimization Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Operations Analyst to optimize vessel performance and safety at sea.

This is an opportunity for experienced seafarers to contribute to the optimization of maritime operations in a dynamic, tech-driven environment.

  • Collect operational data 72–24 hours prior to departure and generate optimized routes and speed recommendations using advanced weather routing software.
  • Deliver accurate meteorological and oceanographic forecasts and assist captains in voyage planning.
  • Provide remote support to vessels during voyages, particularly in adverse weather conditions.
  • Monitor vessel performance, fuel consumption, and adherence to recommended routes.
  • Establish post-voyage reports, analyzing forecast vs. actual conditions and advising on claims when necessary.
  • Liaise directly with captains, offering real-time support and expert navigation advice.
  • Contribute feedback on routing software and operational processes to support continuous improvement.

**Requirements:**

  • Navigation officer experience during 2 years at least within the last 4 years, including Passage Planing preparations.
  • Officer of the Watch on Transoceanic vessels during 4 years at least (TransAtlantic, TransPacific crossings).
  • Practical use of weather routing softwares or services.
  • Rough seas navigation strong feedback.
  • Experience managing vessels fleet performance.

**Preferred Qualifications:**

  • Experience in a Weather Routing or Operational Monitoring Center.
  • Background as officer on gas carriers, tankers, container vessels, bulk carriers, or passenger ships.
  • Experience as Chief Mate or Second Officer.
  • Exposure to polar navigation.
  • Certified studies in meteorology or oceanography.
  • Experience providing onsite technical support to maritime companies.
  • Familiarity with operational and seakeeping software.
  • Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, JIRA, and data visualization tools.
