Job Title

Product Design Leadership Opportunity
  • This role is a key member of our product development team, responsible for driving mechanical design efforts from concept through to production.
  • The Product Design Leader will be accountable for developing and implementing effective mechanical design strategies, ensuring the integration of mechanical components with electronic systems.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and document manufacturing procedures, optimizing designs for injection molding and other high-volume production methods.
  • Lead cross-functional collaboration efforts, working closely with systems, electrical, and software engineers to ensure seamless integration of mechanical components.
  • Mentor junior mechanical engineers, providing technical guidance and reviewing designs to establish best practices and ensure consistent quality.
  • Oversee mechanical validation efforts, including environmental testing, stress analysis, and failure mode evaluation, supporting regulatory submissions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or related discipline.
  • 5–8 years of experience in mechanical product development, preferably in embedded systems or consumer electronics.
  • Demonstrated experience taking at least one product from concept to market; ideally two or more.
  • Strong expertise in plastic part design, injection molding, and DFM principles.
  • Experience developing manufacturing documentation and working with external vendors.
  • Proficiency in CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks, Creo) and mechanical simulation tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in regulated environments.
  • Familiarity with optical systems or sensor integration.
  • Experience in a startup or fast-paced product development environment.
  • Knowledge of environmental testing standards and reliability engineering.
