Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced veterinary nurse to join our surgical team. The successful applicant will work closely with a surgical specialist veterinarian in a newly established surgical department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Admit and register surgery patients
  • Liaise with clients to schedule surgical appointments
  • Perform diagnostics and treatments for pre and post-op patients
  • Scrub in with surgeries
  • Plan and perform anesthesia for patients
  • Record all care information concisely and accurately
  • Address clients' pre and post-op concerns
  • Prepare and maintain surgical equipment and tools
  • Work under the guidance of veterinarians, inventory management staff, and senior nurses
  • Liaise knowledgeably with staff and clients
  • General housekeeping
Requirements
  • Minimum of 2 years' full-time experience in veterinary general practice post-qualification
  • Certificate IV or diploma in veterinary nursing or equivalent
  • Professional and positive demeanor
  • Ability to work efficiently with initiative in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Well-developed organizational skills
  • Interest in emergency critical care medicine
