Medical Practitioner

As a medical practitioner in this role, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care and working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to achieve excellent healthcare outcomes.
- Job Description:
- To perform duties at the same level as a Medical Officer, including on-call shifts, and to be assessed individually by the Head of Department (HOD) to determine clinical responsibilities.
- To assist and guide House Officers in their duties, reviewing new cases promptly and checking their findings and notes.
- To write medical reports in a timely manner, with urgent reports prepared within one week and non-urgent reports within two weeks.
- To ensure accuracy and completion of Hospital Inpatient Discharge Summary (HIDS) Forms and diagnosis & disease index on case records.
- To support Senior Medical Staff in running Specialist Outpatient Clinics and not make significant changes to treatment regimes without approval.
- To update relatives on patients' conditions and explain procedures to patients and their relatives, obtaining consent when necessary.
- To sign Death Certificates and obtain consent for autopsy of deceased patients.
- To inform Senior Medical Staff of major problems and discharges against medical advice.
- To participate in departmental teaching activities as directed by the HOD.
- Required Skills and Qualifications:
- MBBS or postgraduate qualification recognized by the Singapore Medical Council.
- At least 3 years of Medical Officer experience.
- Able to work independently in the department.
- Highly adaptable and possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Able to perform on-call duties.
