Our ideal candidate is a highly skilled ceramics professional with expertise in studio management, teaching and mentoring. The successful candidate will oversee the day-to-day operations of our ceramics studio.

Job Description:
  • Ceramics tutoring & class designing: Develop engaging lesson plans and conduct classes to teach ceramics skills to students of various skill levels.
  • Plan exhibitions and events including artist workshops: Organize and execute successful exhibitions and events that showcase the work of local artists and provide opportunities for them to share their skills with others.
  • Kiln loading and unloading, and firing of ceramic pieces: Ensure that all kilns are properly loaded and unloaded, and that ceramic pieces are fired to the correct temperature and duration.
  • Design and produce AIA ceramic products for retail purposes: Create visually appealing ceramic products that meet the requirements of retailers and consumers.
  • Set up, clean, and demonstrate the use of equipment and instruments: Set up and maintain a clean and organized workspace, and demonstrate the proper use of equipment and instruments to students and colleagues.
Qualifications & Requirements:
  • Education:
  • Candidates with at least a diploma or degree in 3D art-related qualifications, especially pottery: Possess a strong foundation in ceramics and 3D art principles.
  • Skills:
  • Possess intermediate knowledge of ceramics (throwing, trimming, and glazing): Have a solid understanding of ceramics techniques and processes.
  • Able to make sake sets and teapot sets: Possess the skills and experience to create high-quality ceramic pieces.
  • Experience with teaching ceramics will be an absolute advantage: Have experience teaching ceramics to students of various skill levels.
  • Personal Qualities:
  • Passionate about working in the ceramics industry: Be enthusiastic and dedicated to the field of ceramics.
  • Responsible and well-organized: Demonstrate a high level of responsibility and organizational skills.
  • Good communication skills and enjoy interacting with customers: Possess excellent communication skills and enjoy interacting with people from diverse backgrounds.
  • A team player: Be willing to work collaboratively with others to achieve common goals.
  • Willing to work over the weekends and public holidays: Be flexible and willing to work outside of regular business hours when needed.
  • Meticulous, good organizational and documentation skills: Possess attention to detail and strong organizational and documentation skills.
