Senior IT Director Information Security Specialist

APL LOGISTICS LTD is seeking a highly experienced Senior Director to lead our Information Security team. The successful candidate will be responsible for establishing and maintaining a robust information security program, ensuring that our digital assets are adequately protected.
The role requires strong leadership skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines and work effectively in a dynamic environment. A minimum of 10 years' experience in IT, with 7 years in an information security role and at least 5 years in a managerial capacity is required.
The ideal candidate will have excellent analytical and communication skills, with the ability to influence decision-making processes and motivate teams to achieve strategic objectives.
We estimate the salary for this position to be around $175,000 per year, depending on location and qualifications.
About the Job DescriptionThe Senior Director will be responsible for:
- Establishing and maintaining an up-to-date information security management framework based on international standards such as ISO 27001 and NIST Cybersecurity Framework;
- Developing and enhancing policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations;
- Managing outsourced vendors that provide information security functions and ensuring they meet contracted service-level agreements;
- Cooking, measuring, and reporting on technical aspects of security management;
- Maintaining a knowledge base comprising technical reference libraries, security advisories, and alerts;
- Managing day-to-day activities of threat and vulnerability management, identifying risk tolerances, and recommending treatment plans;
To be considered for this role, you should have:
- A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline;
- A Master's Degree in a related field is preferred;
- Professional security management certification such as CISSP, CISM, or CISA;
- A minimum of 10 years' experience in IT, with 7 years in an information security role and at least 5 years in a managerial capacity;
- Experience working with legal, audit, and compliance staff;
- Familiarity with applicable laws and regulations such as SOX, HIPAA, EU Privacy Directive, and J-SOX;
