Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Primary Responsibilities (80%)
    • Adhere to established standards of nursing practices and protocols.
    • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance the quality of care.
    • Attend to the needs of residents, including their physical, emotional, and social needs.
    • Report any concerns or issues to the nurse in charge.
    • Ensure the safety and comfort of residents, including maintaining a clean and safe environment.
    • Monitor and record vital signs, and report any abnormal readings to the nurse in charge.
    • Assist in the transfer and positioning of non-ambulant residents.
    • Support the RN in administering medications and ensuring residents take their medications as prescribed.
    • Prepare and serve meals to residents, and assist with feeding as needed.
    • Assist the nurse in caring for residents with urinary catheters.
    • Assist in the admission and orientation of new residents.
    • Maintain accurate documentation of care provided.
    • Accompany residents to hospital appointments and outings.
    • Maintain a safe and clean environment for the nursing home.
    • Perform rehabilitation activities, such as motion exercises and walking with residents.
    • Organize and facilitate therapy sessions, as prescribed.
    • Respond to emergency situations, and take first responder actions as necessary.
  • Secondary Responsibilities (20%)
    • Support clinical service projects and initiatives.
    • Participate in infection control campaigns and activities.
    • Assume additional responsibilities as assigned by management.
    Requirements
    • GCE N Level qualification.
    • Training in WSQ Higher Certificate/Advanced Certificate in Healthcare Support (Nursing Care), or Institute of Technical (ITE) Approved Training Centre (ATC) Healthcare (Home Care) programme.
    • For foreign-trained individuals, a Diploma in Nursing is required.
    Skills and Qualities
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
    • Compassion, empathy, and a strong commitment to providing high-quality care.
    • Basic life support skills and knowledge of infection control practices.
