UNIX/Linux Systems Support Specialist

Our team is seeking a highly skilled UNIX/Linux systems support specialist to provide high availability of our IT systems. The ideal candidate will have experience in installing, configuring, tuning, upgrading, managing and administering UNIX/LINUX operating systems.

  • Perform system administration, support, and maintenance of IT systems.
  • Monitor the performance and availability of system components in production and test environments.
  • Set up new physical servers, installation and configuration of Unix OS and related services.
  • Plan, manage, and install patches for OS, security, and other software according to patch management process.
  • Work with Development, Testing, Application Maintenance, Incident, and Problem Management teams to implement new changes in production, install new releases of existing applications, and troubleshoot issues across all Production & Non-Production environments.
  • Investigate system performance issues and carry out performance tuning.
  • Support new project implementation, participate in project meetings, and provide task-level detail feedback to the Project Manager.
  • Required skills and qualifications:
    • Experience in installing, configuring, tuning, upgrading, managing, and administering UNIX/Linux operating systems.
    • Experience in Installation, configuration, and administration of Web Servers including Apache web server, Tomcat, and Nginx.
    • Experience in implementation and administration of Software-based load balancer including Red Hat HA-Proxy.
    • Strong in scripting and programming using either Shell, Perl, or Python.
