Project Manager for Marine Machinery Operations

About the Role

This is a challenging and rewarding role that involves overseeing daily projects related to marine machinery operations. The successful candidate will work with various stakeholders, including ship owners and managers, offshore operators, and other industry professionals.

  • Responsibilities:
    • Manage day-to-day projects of Afloat Repairs, Lifesaving & Fire-Fighting Inspection and offshore projects on Ships/Rigs in Singapore and at Overseas.
    • Assist head of department in handling company field service operations, technical, operational and commercial matters, ensuring timely completion and high quality delivery.
    • Work out project quotations, send to HOD or management approval.
    • Prepare project costing for job completion settlement with customers.
    • Issue material, tools & equipment requisition to company supply department for purchase.
    • Issue purchase order to subcontractors for maintenance and service.
    • Monitor, manage and coordinate company repair team and/or subcontractors for job execution.
    • Liaise with clients for project management.
    • Manage tools & equipment kept in company's warehouse, calibration periodically as required.
    • Handover related contact information in writing to company's logistic coordinator for transportation arrangement for Engineers and repair team, tools & equipment to and from job sites.
    • Manage all documentation & certificates ready for the project, submit to client once job completion, keep in project file and ERP system for reference.
    • Answer customer queries and provide remote technical support.
    • Develop repair techniques, training and team build-up as per request by HOD or management.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you must have the following skills and qualifications:

  • Possess at least Diploma in Marine Engineering or equivalent.
  • Experience in marine machinery and equipment.
  • Past experience in Shipyard or working on board of ship preferred.
  • Experience in coordinating marine service work, especially afloat repairs advantageous.
  • Able to commit even after office hours due to the nature of the job.
