Job Description

The Senior Executive, Media Relations role at SMRT Corporation Ltd is responsible for enhancing our public image and reputation by proactively managing media relations and building positive relationships with stakeholders.

This includes coordinating press releases, drafting service announcements, and responding to media inquiries.

You will work closely with cross-functional teams within the company to achieve our communication goals and strengthen our position as a leading multi-modal transport operator in Singapore.



Key Responsibilities

  1. Enhance SMRT's reputation by proactively managing public perceptions and building positive relationships with media and stakeholders.
  2. Coordinate and draft press releases, service announcements, and responses to media inquiries.
  3. Support and execute publicity plans in collaboration with internal stakeholders, partners, and media outlets.
  4. Respond promptly as a key member of the incident team during unplanned events or crises.
  5. Collaborate with internal departments to align communication strategies with business objectives.
  6. Support the planning and execution of communication-related events, such as press conferences and media briefings.
  7. Monitor media coverage and analyze the effectiveness of communication strategies, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.


Requirements

To succeed in this role, you should possess:

  • A diploma or degree in Mass Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a relevant discipline.
  • At least 3-5 years of experience in corporate communications, media relations, or public relations.
  • Experience in handling media inquiries, writing press releases, managing communications strategies, and projects.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling messages.
  • Proactive team player with excellent interpersonal skills to manage campaigns, events, and projects.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Experience in Crisis Communications is a plus.
