Senior Tax Professional

The company is seeking a Senior Tax Professional to join their team in Singapore. This pivotal role will connect the Headquarter tax department with regional tax teams, focusing on developing and executing significant projects and new initiatives.

  • Creating and upholding tax plans, compliance procedures, and risk assessment frameworks to ensure effective tax management.
  • Overseeing the preparation and filing of various tax returns (income tax, VAT, direct/indirect taxes) and collaborating with finance, accounting, and other stakeholders to guarantee accurate implementation of tax strategies according to national compliance requirements.
  • Identifying, tracking, and reporting potential financial risks, working with accounting teams on solutions, and ensuring alignment on tax matters between HQ and local teams.
  • Assisting with research and implementation of tax initiatives, assessing the tax impact of business operations, and managing tax audits in close cooperation with finance.

Key responsibilities include:

Creating tax plans that align with the company's strategic objectives and risk management framework.

Developing and implementing compliance procedures that meet or exceed regulatory requirements.

Ensuring accuracy and completeness of tax returns, including income tax, VAT, direct/indirect taxes.

Collaborating with finance, accounting, and other stakeholders to implement tax strategies and ensure alignment between HQ and local teams.

Managing tax risks through identifying, tracking, and reporting potential financial risks.

Coordinating with accounting teams to develop and implement solutions to address tax-related issues.

Providing guidance and support to colleagues on tax matters and best practices.

Staying up-to-date with changes in tax laws and regulations, and providing recommendations for process improvements.

We're looking for a candidate with a recognized degree in Accounting, ACCA, or an equivalent qualification, and at least 6 years of relevant experience. High-performing managers from a Big Four firm with a strong background in corporate or M&A tax are encouraged to apply.

As a Senior Tax Professional, you will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of tax strategies, managing tax risks, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. You will also work closely with finance, accounting, and other stakeholders to implement tax strategies and ensure alignment between HQ and local teams.

This role requires a high level of expertise in tax planning, compliance, and risk management. You should have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as strong communication and collaboration skills.
