Job Summary

The role of a Haemodynamics Monitoring Specialist involves providing critical support during coronary angiography, angioplasty, and other interventional radiological procedures. This position requires strong technical skills and excellent communication abilities to work effectively in a fast-paced cardiovascular laboratory environment.

Main Responsibilities

  • Assist cardiologists with Electrophysiology (EPS) studies, ensuring accurate and efficient data collection.
  • Support post-catheterisation care for patients, prioritising their comfort and safety.
  • Participate in code blue procedures within the cardiovascular laboratory, demonstrating composure under pressure.
  • Perform ECGs, newborn hearing screenings, and other non-radiation procedures in the Diagnostic Imaging Department/CV Laboratory.
  • Assist with patient preparation, positioning, and transportation for procedures, adhering to strict protocols.
  • Provide administrative support within the Diagnostic Imaging Department and CV Laboratory, maintaining high levels of organisation and attention to detail.
  • Offer on-call coverage for emergency CV procedures, responding promptly to calls and escalating issues as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Science (Biology/Physiology) or Diploma in Medical Technology (Cardiac Technology) / Biotechnology / Cardiovascular Technology or equivalent.
  • Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in an acute hospital setting, with a focus on haemodynamics monitoring.
  • Strong knowledge of Electrophysiology (EPS) studies, including procedures and protocols.
  • AHPC registration is required for this role.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
