Job Description:
Chefs in our kitchen require an assistant to help with all food preparation duties. This role involves supporting the chef team in maintaining high-quality standards, ensuring seamless service delivery and following proper hygiene and workplace safety practices.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Assisting chefs with food preparation tasks such as slicing meat, washing vegetables, and cutting various foods to prepare for cooking or serving
- Preparing cold foods and raw foods, including butchering and cleaning fowl, fish, and poultry as needed
- Distributing food to hall staff to serve customers, while maintaining accurate records of quantities used
- Storing food in designated containers and storage areas, receiving and storing supplies, equipment, and utensils, and informing supervisors when supplies are getting low or equipment is not working properly
- Maintaining good food hygiene and kitchen safety practices, assisting in cleanliness and maintenance of kitchen area, and performing other reasonable job duties as requested by supervisors
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Ability to multitask and work under pressure
- Strong communication skills and ability to follow instructions
- Familiarity with kitchen procedures and food safety protocols
- Basic math skills and attention to detail
