Key Software Developer Position

This is a key position within our organization that requires an experienced software developer to work on the International Core Banking System. The selected individual will be responsible for designing, developing, maintaining, and supporting COBOL-based applications.
The ideal candidate should have a strong background in computer science or a related field, with at least 6 years of relevant experience in COBOL and Pro*C. In addition, they must possess hands-on expertise in Micro Focus COBOL, C, Pro*C, Shell scripting, SQL/PL-SQL, GitLab, and Oracle.
Apart from technical skills, the candidate should also have strong communication skills in English, analytical and organizational abilities, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
We are looking for someone who is autonomous, can work effectively in a multicultural environment, and has a good understanding of banking principles.
In terms of responsibilities, the software developer will be expected to research, design, develop, and update COBOL software solutions. They will also analyze functional requirements, prepare technical specifications, code, test, validate, and implement system components.
An additional requirement is to draft technical designs, unit tests, peer reviews, and integration documents, as well as provide Level 3 production support and resolve escalated issues.
The successful candidate will have excellent collaboration skills and be able to participate in technical discussions, propose best-practice solutions, and ensure delivery quality across all assigned projects and tasks.
