Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Quantity Surveyor to join our team at WECRUIT PTE. LTD. as a Senior Quantity Surveyor. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the financial and contractual aspects of construction projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare Bills of Quantities: Develop detailed estimates of materials, labor, and equipment required for construction projects.
  • Obtain quotations and evaluate: Source and evaluate quotations from suppliers and contractors to ensure the best value for the company.
  • Prepare sub-contract/purchasing documents: Develop and review documents related to sub-contracting and purchasing, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations.
  • Cost management: Oversee the financial aspects of projects, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
  • Assist in the preparation of claims: Support the supervisor in preparing and submitting claims for extensions of time, acceleration, prolongation, and cost.
  • Prepare final accounts: Develop and submit final accounts for sub-contract work, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Prepare progress payment certificates: Issue certificates to sub-contractors, confirming payment for work completed.
  • Attend meetings: Represent the company at meetings with suppliers, contractors, and other stakeholders, as required.
  • Other duties: Perform other tasks as assigned by the supervisor or management.
Requirements
  • Negotiation skills: Possess excellent negotiation skills to secure the best deals with suppliers and contractors.
  • Microsoft Office skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Construction knowledge: Have a strong understanding of construction principles, practices, and regulations.
  • Quantity Surveying skills: Possess a solid foundation in quantity surveying, including cost management, estimation, and procurement.
  • Cost Management skills: Have experience in cost management, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
  • Administration skills: Possess excellent administrative skills, including record-keeping, reporting, and communication.
  • Estimation skills: Be proficient in estimating, including developing detailed estimates of materials, labor, and equipment required for construction projects.
  • Procurement skills: Have experience in procurement, including sourcing and evaluating quotations from suppliers and contractors.
  • AutoCAD skills: Familiarity with AutoCAD, a computer-aided design software.
  • Team Player: Be a team player, able to work collaboratively with colleagues, suppliers, and contractors.
  • Civil Engineering knowledge: Have a strong understanding of civil engineering principles, practices, and regulations.
  • Tendering skills: Possess experience in tendering, including developing and submitting tenders for construction projects.
  • Pricing skills: Be proficient in pricing, including developing detailed estimates of materials, labor, and equipment required for construction projects.
  • Sourcing skills: Have experience in sourcing, including identifying and evaluating potential suppliers and contractors.
  • Cost Control skills: Possess experience in cost control, including monitoring and controlling project costs.
