Movement Therapist

We are seeking a highly skilled Movement Therapist to join our team. As a Movement Therapist, you will design and facilitate movement-based therapeutic interventions that promote emotional expression, psychological well-being, and physical health.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct individual and group movement therapy sessions to support emotional, psychological, and physical development.
  • Assess clients' needs and develop customized movement-based interventions.
  • Collaborate with mental health professionals to integrate movement therapy into comprehensive treatment plans.
  • Use movement, dance, and body awareness techniques to help clients improve self-expression, stress management, and interpersonal skills.
  • Maintain accurate session notes, treatment plans, and progress reports.
  • Develop and deliver workshops and training sessions to promote the benefits of movement therapy.
  • Stay current with the latest research and best practices in dance/movement therapy, somatic therapies, and expressive arts.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Dance/Movement Therapy, Expressive Arts Therapy, Psychology, or a related field.
  • Certification in Dance/Movement Therapy or equivalent professional training (preferred).
  • Experience working in clinical, educational, or community settings with diverse populations.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Empathy, creativity, and ability to adapt interventions to client needs.
Preferred Skills:
  • Familiarity with trauma-informed care.
  • Experience working with children, adolescents, or individuals with special needs.
  • Able to integrate music, mindfulness, or other expressive arts into sessions.
  • Languages spoken: English (fluent), other languages an asset.
