Senior Veterinary Care Specialist

The role of a senior veterinary care specialist is multifaceted and challenging.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate the admission process for new patients and provide support for anesthesia monitoring and recovery in emergency situations.
  • Assist emergency veterinarians with the care and treatment of hospitalized patients, including those in the ICU.
  • Oversee critical patients in the ward and ICU, ensuring timely interventions and effective patient management.
  • Perform radiographic imaging to aid in diagnosis and treatment planning.
  • Restrain patients safely for exams and treatments while minimizing stress and discomfort.
  • Prepare and discharge patients for surgeries, including postoperative bandaging and recovery, to ensure seamless transitions and optimal outcomes.
  • Communicate effectively with clients regarding their pets' health, address concerns, and provide guidance on aftercare.
  • Participate in inpatient rounds, engage in self-directed learning activities, such as attending continuing education lectures and reviewing relevant literature, to stay up-to-date with best practices and advancements in the field.
Requirements:
  • Hold a degree or diploma in veterinary technology/nursing or related qualifications.
  • Prior experience in a veterinary clinic or hospital setting is highly valued but not mandatory.
