Senior Legal and Compliance Professional

We are seeking an experienced in-house legal counsel and compliance expert to provide expert legal advice and strategic guidance.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Singaporean legislation, regulatory expertise, and the ability to develop policies and strategies to mitigate legal risks.
- Provide legal advice on matters relating to statistics, data protection, confidentiality, and other applicable laws.
- Review and interpret legislation, regulations, and government guidelines affecting our operations.
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and legal documents to ensure compliance with relevant laws.
- Advise on legal risks and develop strategies to mitigate potential challenges from external parties or the public.
- Represent us in discussions with regulators, government agencies, and external counsel.
- Develop, implement, and monitor compliance policies and procedures to ensure adherence to relevant legislation and internal guidelines.
- Conduct regular compliance reviews and audits to identify gaps and recommend corrective actions.
- Deliver training and awareness sessions on legal and compliance requirements for our staff.
- Serve as the point of contact for all compliance-related queries and issues.
- Maintain proper documentation of compliance processes, decisions, and legal opinions.
- Identify, assess, and monitor legal and compliance risks.
- Recommend and implement controls to address identified risks.
- Ensure incident response plans are in place for data breaches or other compliance-related incidents.
- Education: Law degree from a recognised institution; admission to the Singapore Bar preferred.
- Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of relevant legal experience, preferably with exposure to the public sector, data protection, or regulatory compliance.
- Strong analytical skills, excellent drafting and communication abilities, and proven business acumen.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under tight deadlines.
- Experience in both legal advisory and compliance functions.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills.
- Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to work independently.
- High integrity and sound judgement in handling sensitive cases.
