Job Title: Quality Control Specialist

Job Description

The role of a Quality Control Specialist is to ensure that all food products meet the highest standards of quality and safety. This includes overseeing daily production processes in the hot kitchen environment to guarantee compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.

This position requires an individual who can effectively monitor and assess finished products to ensure adherence to Critical Control Points (CCPs) and overall product quality standards. The specialist will collaborate with the production team to identify potential hazards and implement preventative measures.

Main Responsibilities:

1. Quality Monitoring: Continuously inspect and evaluate products for any signs of defect or non-compliance with regulations.
2. Compliance Management: Ensure that all relevant food safety regulations are met, including local laws and industry certifications such as ISO 22000 and FSSC 22000.
3. Process Optimization: Identify areas for improvement within the hot kitchen environment and lead continuous improvement initiatives that drive efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance product quality.
4. Training & Development: Conduct training sessions for kitchen staff on food safety practices, quality control procedures, and hygiene standards.
5. CORRECTIVE ACTIONS: Investigate complaints related to product quality, food safety, and hygiene in the hot kitchen, and implement corrective and preventive actions to resolve issues and minimize recurrence.

Key Requirements:

• Education: Diploma or Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or a related field.
• Experience: At least 3 years of experience in quality assurance, food manufacturing, or food safety management, preferably in a hot kitchen or food production environment.
• Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of food safety regulations, quality assurance methodologies, and testing protocols.
• Personal Attributes: Analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently and under pressure.

Required Skills and Qualifications

The ideal candidate must possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to quickly identify and address food safety risks. Excellent communication skills for training, reporting, and collaborating with cross-functional teams are essential.

In addition, the candidate should have hands-on experience in a hot kitchen or food production environment and be familiar with food safety certifications such as HACCP, GMP, ISO 22000, and FSSC 22000.

A degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or a related field is preferred, along with at least 3 years of experience in quality assurance, food manufacturing, or food safety management.

Strong technical skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word), are also required.
