Protecting Users and Ensuring Platform Health

The Business Risk Integrated Control (BRIC) team is responsible for safeguarding TikTok users, maintaining platform health, and promoting authenticity in the community experience. The team collaborates with cross-functional stakeholders to enhance TikTok infrastructures, services, tools, and algorithms, prioritizing higher privacy and security standards.

Key objectives include measuring and minimizing damage from inauthentic behaviors on TikTok and its extended platforms, encompassing fake accounts, traffic, spam, scraping, cyberbullying, live room risks, incentive fraud, monetization abuse, and related risks.

Job Responsibilities
  1. Analyze business and security data to identify evolving attack patterns, weaknesses, and opportunities in risk defense solutions.
  2. Develop risk control measurements, quantify and monitor related metrics, and align stakeholders on numeric goals.
  3. Design and build A/B experiments to satisfy business needs, create rules and models to mitigate risks, and respond to abusive accounts, fake engagements, spammy redirection, scraping, fraud, etc.
  4. Own technical measurement and evaluation of risk levels in specific business areas, define and coordinate planning, execution, and generalization of risk solutions.
  5. Drive data science best practices around risk analytics and modeling, leveraging data to bridge collaboration between stakeholders.
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Final year or recent graduate with a background in computer science, statistics, or other relevant majors.
  • Proficiency in data science analytical tools, such as SQL, R, and Python.
  • Possess at least one advantage among risk control, statistical problem solving, measurement-and-experiment-driven product iteration.
  • Strong ownership, proactive communication, ability to handle high complexity and urgency.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Industry experience in relevant data science domains, including search and ranking, recommendation, ads/monetization, anti-fraud/abuse, financial risks.
  • Ability to effectively communicate data insights.
