Staff Physician Job Opportunity

This position requires a highly skilled and experienced medical professional to work as a Staff Physician. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing at the same level of duties and responsibilities as a Medical Officer.

  • The successful candidate will assist and supervise House Officers in their duties, reviewing new cases promptly and checking on the House Officer's findings and notes.
  • They will write medical reports, ensuring urgent reports are prepared within a week and non-urgent reports within two weeks.
  • Accuracy and completion of Hospital Inpatient Discharge Summary Forms and diagnosis & disease index on case records are also essential.
  • Assisting Senior Medical Staff in running Specialist Outpatient Clinics, requiring prior approval for major changes to treatment regimes or discharging long-term patients is another key responsibility.
  • The successful candidate will update relatives on patients' conditions, explain procedures to patients and relatives, obtain consent, and sign Death Certificates.
  • Informing Senior Medical Staff of major problems and discharges against medical advice, counselling patients as needed is also crucial.
  • Participating in departmental teaching activities directed by the HOD and performing other medical duties as required will be an added advantage.

Requirements:

  • Ambitious candidates must hold an MBBS or postgraduate qualification recognized by the Singapore Medical Council.
  • At least 3 years of Medical Officer experience is required.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and adaptability skills are essential for this role.
  • Candidates must be capable of working independently in the department.
  • Doing calls is also a must.
