As an IT Network Systems Engineer at Micron, you will be responsible for the operational health of our data communications systems. This includes supporting the acquisition, installation, maintenance, and administration of our data and voice communications systems.

Network Engineers specialize in LAN/WAN, Wireless, and Telecommunications hardware, software, and cabling. You will regularly work with Micron's Business Units to ensure solutions meet or exceed business requirements.

Responsibilities include planning, designing, and analyzing costs of network infrastructure for mergers, acquisitions, and new/existing site construction or expansion. You will determine the needs of the site, research new equipment, and minimize costs within budget constraints.

You will analyze, compare, and determine the cost of implementing new technology or services, participate in project planning, and coordinate with vendors and business units for integration of services and systems.

Additionally, you will integrate existing network designs into the Micron enterprise network, coordinate and facilitate the integration and support for new equipment, optimize performance, and determine equipment that needs to be retired and replaced.

You will work with the global network teams to incorporate Micron standards and best practices into local site network builds, collaborate with the IT Security team, and provide operational support for network infrastructure.

As a key member of the team, you will determine the needs of the site, manage and maintain the existing environment, integrate and support new technology, and respond to alarms, alerts, and notifications.

You will maintain information in the management system, manage contractor support personnel, provide an escalation point for global operational network teams, and coordinate with vendors regarding updates to equipment and the equipment lifecycle.

Finally, you will monitor the needs of the site, coordinate with vendors and business units for upgrades of services and systems, optimize performance, and communicate the status of the unified network infrastructure.
