Biotechnology Research Scientist Job Description

At DSO National Laboratories, you will have the opportunity to develop technological solutions to sharpen the cutting edge of Singapore's national security. As a Biotechnology Research Scientist, you will be part of a team that develops innovative biotechnology solutions for defence applications.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and implementing biotechnology research projects in collaboration with our team of experts.
  • Designing and executing experiments to investigate functional characteristics of pathogens and impact of potential countermeasures.
  • Analysing experimental data and communicating findings to stakeholders through reports and presentations.

 

Requirements

To succeed as a Biotechnology Research Scientist, you will need:

  • A degree in Life Sciences or related field (Masters or PhD preferred).
  • Extensive experience in molecular biology techniques such as PCR, molecular cloning, protein expression and purification.
  • Familiarity with cellular and biochemical assays to investigate biological characteristics of bacteria and anti-virulence properties of countermeasures.
  • BSL3 certification and willingness to work in a BSL3 environment.
  • Good communication and writing skills.
  • The ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • A motivated individual with a keen interest in research who stays updated on advancements in biotechnology.
