Job Description:

As a Production Optimization Specialist, you will be responsible for driving production performance to meet weekly target output and on-time delivery to customers. This role involves exploring continuous improvements activities to assist area management in running the production in a cost-efficient and effective manner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop production plans and execution strategies to meet output targets, on-time delivery to customers, cycle time, and day of inventory metrics.
  • Analyze daily production operations progress and collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve any issues impacting delivery schedules to customers.
  • Implement integrated systems for managing materials flow, production processes, inventory control, and human work factors.
  • Drive continuous improvement to achieve best-in-class performance on cycle time and delivery.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for in-line planning and production control-related activities.
  • Forecast production logistics, direct, and indirect materials to ensure production readiness to meet weekly output plans.
  • Review current resource inventory levels to ensure sufficiency to meet fluctuations in supply requirements.
  • Identify and address bottleneck areas, constraints on existing and new processes or work procedures with support groups.
  • Maintain a safe working environment by performing work area inspections to identify, anticipate, and promptly correct safety hazards.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Physics, Chemistry, Applied Sciences, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Materials Science from a recognized institution of higher learning.
  • Manufacturing processes capacity planning, automation, scheduling, cycle time, and manufacturing efficiency experience.
  • Ability and willingness to work non-standard hours, including compressed 12-hour night shifts.
  • Outstanding organizational, coordination, and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and coordinate team members from multiple sites and diverse backgrounds.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and basic coding skills are desired.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently in a demanding and dynamic environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent project management skills.
