Job Title: Aircon Technician

The primary role of an aircon technician is to install, test and commission air conditioning systems in residential, commercial and industrial properties. This involves ensuring that the systems are functioning correctly and efficiently, as well as identifying and resolving any issues that may arise during installation or operation.


Aircon technicians must also perform routine maintenance and repairs on air conditioning systems. This includes cleaning filters, checking refrigerant levels and troubleshooting malfunctions. They must be able to diagnose problems quickly and effectively, using a range of tools and equipment to identify the cause of failure.


Another key responsibility of an aircon technician is to recommend and install system upgrades to improve energy efficiency or replace outdated components. This requires a good understanding of the latest technologies and techniques in air conditioning, as well as the ability to communicate complex information clearly to clients.


In addition to technical skills, aircon technicians must also possess excellent customer service skills. This includes providing clear explanations of air conditioning system operations, offering solutions and ensuring customer satisfaction. They must be able to work independently and as part of a team, with strong communication and interpersonal skills.


Aircon technicians typically maintain accurate records of service calls, repairs and maintenance schedules for each client. They must be able to organize and prioritize tasks effectively, manage time and resources, and meet deadlines.


To succeed in this role, aircon technicians must have a strong foundation in electrical and mechanical principles, as well as experience working with air conditioning systems. They must be physically fit and able to work at heights, in confined spaces and in a variety of environments.
