Market Risk and Product Control Role

This role supports the bank's Treasury business by providing P&L reporting, analysis, and reconciliations, market data and valuation controls, book controls, structured products governance, and market risk computation, monitoring, and controls.

Job Responsibilities
  • Perform daily valuations of exotic products to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Conduct independent price verification to validate market data and ensure no discrepancies.
  • Review valuation methodologies to identify areas for improvement and implement changes as necessary.
  • Assist in reviewing monthly valuation adjustments computation, including CVA/DVA, to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Collaborate with audit and valuation working groups to support control functions.
  • Participate in strategic projects to support new business initiatives, such as developing valuation models and implementing market risk controls.
Requirements
  • Candidates with 1-4 years of relevant experience in banking or financial institutions, preferably in middle office, risk, product control, or valuation control.
  • Minimum degree in mathematics, financial engineering, or quantitative finance, or equivalent professional certifications.
  • Some knowledge of treasury, derivatives, and structured products, with an understanding of market terms and practices.
  • Familiarity with office software packages and data vendors like Bloomberg and Reuters.
  • Proficiency in programming languages, specifically Matlab and VBA, is essential.
  • Excellent team player with drive, initiative, attention to detail, and ability to work independently under pressure to deliver accurate and timely results.
  • Bonus: knowledge of counterparty credit risk.
