About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled Senior Investment Accounting Specialist to join our team at Northern Trust Corporation. In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of investment accounting transactions.
Job Description:
- Focus on resolving complex core custody accounting and financial transactions, requiring expertise in interpreting policies, guidelines, and/or processes.
- Take ownership of one or more processes, reports, and/or procedures, demonstrating analytical and procedural competence.
- Represent the team on client valuation reporting and projects deliverables, showcasing your skills as an expert in a client valuation reporting.
- Serve as a liaison to related areas and supervise day-to-day work of junior-level employees or other location's output, promoting knowledge sharing and skill development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Resolve complex investment accounting transactions, where expertise is required to interpret policies, guidelines, and/or processes.
- Maintain the team/division's goal for accuracy and timeliness.
- Analytically and procedurally competent, representing the team on client valuation reporting and projects deliverables.
- Escalate relevant and critical issues to management and all pertinent partners/clients in a timely and efficient manner.
- Serve as a key subject matter expert and mentor other junior-level employees.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
The successful candidate will possess:
- Experience in a financial industry operations environment or through advanced degree.
- Strong understanding of Singapore Financial Reporting Standards.
- Client communication, presentation, and consulting experience.
- Knowledge of financial industry operations and accounting procedures.
- Knowledge of investment accounting and financial instruments, specifically related to International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
- Chartered Accountant, Certified Public Accountant, or similar professional qualification.
- Analytical skills to research and resolve inquiries.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Global (Asia Pacific) market practice knowledge.
