Actuarial Analyst

We are seeking a highly motivated Actuarial Analyst to join our General Insurance (GI) actuarial team. As a key member of our dynamic team, you will provide support to our GI business and contribute to the development and enhancement of in-house statistical capability using SAS software.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and enhance in-house statistical capability using SAS software, including periodic data preparation for valuation and monitoring purposes.
- Assist in the financial management of the general business, including generating required reports.
- Support Reinsurance (RI) related assessment, such as optimal RI assessment, RI accounting and financial reporting.
- Assist the Company in driving the GI business through profitability analysis and actuarial valuation on various business lines.
- Perform business projections for business planning, stress scenario construction and stress testing.
- Support implementation of target operating model for IFRS 17, including the assessment of insurance reserves, profit and loss.
- Provide technical support on other general insurance related matters, such as marketing, underwriting and claims management.
- Takes accountability in considering business and regulatory compliance risks and takes appropriate steps to mitigate the risks.
- Maintains awareness of industry trends on regulatory compliance, emerging threats and technologies in order to understand the risk and better safeguard the company.
- Highlights any potential concerns /risks and proactively shares best risk management practices.
- Degree in Actuarial or relevant fields, and good progress in Actuarial examinations.
- Excellent in statistical analysis, problem solving and communication skills.
- Proficient in MS Excel and good knowledge of statistical packages and strong interest in programming (e.g SAS, SQL, VBA).
- Familiar with general insurance, RBC2, reinsurance structures, IFRS17, AS400 system data structure, and Prophet programming will be an advantage.
- 1 year of relevant working experience.
