About This Role:

As a Senior Underwriter, you will be responsible for providing underwriting support to the team by collaborating with reinsurers on guidelines, campaigns, and audits. You will also coordinate internal quality assurance and provide underwriting support for individual product lines in New Business Underwriting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and refine underwriting policies and procedures.
  • Conduct regular reviews to ensure compliance with established underwriting guidelines.
  • Collaborate closely with reinsurers to develop and implement underwriting strategies.
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with underwriting decisions through case reviews.
  • Underwrite new applications for life, health, and long-term care proposals.
  • Provide guidance and countersign underwriting decisions.
  • Develop and deliver training sessions for underwriters.
  • Ensure departmental Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are achieved.

Requirements:

  • A degree with at least 10 years' experience in underwriting Life, Accident, and Health risks.
  • Leadership ability and strong analytical skills with the ability to work under pressure.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • High level of integrity and accountability.
  • Adaptability and willingness to improve current processes.
