**Job Title:** Senior Geologist

**Job Summary:** We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Geologist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing geological expertise to support the company's construction projects.

• Assist the Project Manager to monitor the day-to-day works of consultants and contractors.
• Assist the Project Manager to study the general suitability of the site proposed by the consultant in terms of geological and geomorphological viewpoint.
• Review and report opinions regarding surface/underground works, roads, bridge sites, etc. proposed by the consultant or planned by the company.
• Assist the Project Manager to determine ground hazards and carry out risk assessment for possible landslides and assist in studies involving general terrain and geological mapping (of surface and subsurface as required).
• Assist the Project Manager to collect, analyze, and interpret project-related geological data.
• Use and analyze site information (such as radar images, aerial photographs, reports, and geological maps) related to site investigations works submitted by the consultant.
• Review the field work/site investigations proposed by the consultant and make recommendations wherever required.
• Review and prepare geological reports as per requirement for different projects owned by the company.
• Assist and advise the Project Manager on a range of issues related to the quality and suitability of construction material (soil or rock) as well as use of the construction materials.
• Assist the Project Manager to ensure that projects keep to budgets and timescales.
• Liaise with construction engineers and geotechnical engineers from the consultants/contractors to ensure the designed quality of work/investigation.
• Inspect site investigation works carried out by the consultant and contractor.
• Ensure safe, practical, and economic design is being prepared and proposed by the consultant.
• Quality assurance of the underground/surface works.
• Geological mapping in tunnel/project sites including logging of tunnels.
• Supervision of tunnel construction including excavation, drilling, blasting, mucking, and support works.
• Supervise and monitor the underground/surface construction work as per the drawing, BOQ, and specification.
• Assist the Project Manager/Contract Unit (CU) to prepare the tender/contract documents and its evaluation for the procurement of mechanical works, goods, and services.
• Support the Project Manager/CU to analyze the claims, variations, extension of time, etc.
• Support the Project Manager/CU to check and verify the contractor's payment statements.
• Review the project interface in the implementation schedule submitted by the consultant and suggest appropriate measures for correction, if required.
• Determination of the possible difficulties that may be encountered by a specific construction method for any particular project.
• Review drawings, planning, and technical reports submitted by the contractor/consultant.
• Assist the Project Manager to identify and report delay in project progress.
• Carry out periodic quality checks as required.
• Ensure 'As Built Drawings' are prepared and well documented.
• Conduct and participate in different levels of project-related meetings as per requirement.
• Assist the Project Manager for progress report preparation.
• Ensure reliability of progress report submitted by the consultant/contractor.
• Assist the Project Manager to carry out EIA/IEE, connection agreement, PPA, and other regulatory works with line agencies.
• Interact and assist same/other divisions of the organization from time to time as per requirement.
• Perform any other duties as assigned by the company.
