Job Overview

This role involves designing and developing electrical systems for power generation and control. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating and implementing electrical designs that meet customer requirements.

Responsibilities include reading customized power generator controls circuit with PLC programming, networking, HMI, and switchgear layout. Additionally, the candidate will provide assistance to Sales Engineers in technical specification and attend technical meetings at customer sites.

Others duties include coordinating with customers for technical issues, troubleshooting control issues remotely, and supporting site commissioning efforts.

The key skills required for this position include proficiency in AutoCAD, E3, or other CAD tools, experience in PLC and HMI programming, and ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, plans, drawings, prints, or similar job write-ups.

A strong knowledge of design diesel and gas engine generator control interface with PLC control logic programming is also desirable. Familiarity with network communication interfacing and SCADA is a plus.

  • Develop and implement electrical system designs for power generation and control
  • Collaborate with sales engineers on technical specifications and attend customer meetings
  • Coordinate with customers on technical issues and troubleshoot control issues remotely
  • Support site commissioning efforts and handle factory internal testing and acceptance tests
  • Monitor project progress and provide corrections as needed

Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you should possess a degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering, including power engineering. A minimum of 2 years of engineering experience in either power generation controls and/or electrical switchgear or automation control between 400V to 15kV is also necessary.

A proven experience with low-voltage and medium-voltage switchgear design, control panel development, and power system studies is highly valued.

  • Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles and practices
  • Proficiency in CAD software and experience with PLC and HMI programming
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and plans
  • Knowledge of design diesel and gas engine generator control interface with PLC control logic programming
  • Familiarity with network communication interfacing and SCADA (optional)
