Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Nursing Services Director to lead our nursing team. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care.

  • Clinical Leadership
  • You will be responsible for the effective management of ward operations, ensuring that quality service programmes are implemented in accordance with organisational QA and Infection Control policies.
  • You will supervise, evaluate, and discipline all staff members, upholding organisational values and nursing standards.
  • You will coordinate teamwork in the day-to-day running of the nursing department, fostering effective working relationships within the team and between internal and external customer groups.
  • Quality Assurance
  • You will review and update nursing policies and procedures, ensuring that team members are familiar with Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and emergency protocols.
  • You will lead quality assurance activities to monitor and evaluate the quality and appropriateness of nursing care, implementing action plans to address identified gaps or areas for improvement.
  • You will work with the nursing team, allied health professionals, and support care teams to coordinate and facilitate quality improvement initiatives and continuous improvement projects.
  • Training and Development
  • You will direct and facilitate staff development, skills upgrading, and competency enhancement through various opportunities.
  • You will assist in regular and ongoing assessment of nursing staff competencies to ensure achievement of targets set and/or expected competency levels.
  • You will orientate and appraise newly joined staff nurses' clinical performance during their induction.
  • Administration
  • You will ensure appropriate skills mix and adequate manpower resourcing for all shifts and types of services.
  • You will utilise performance management and counselling skills effectively to motivate staff to perform at their optimal level.
  • You will maintain an inventory list of ward equipment and ensure regular maintenance is carried out.
  • You will support the Director of Nursing in the management of the home and deputise in her absence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing with minimum 5 years' work experience or Diploma in Nursing with minimum 10 years' work experience.
  • Possesses good organisational, management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong team player with good communication and interpersonal skills.
