Pharmacy Support Role
Job Summary:The Pharmacy Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring safe and efficient medication dispensing, patient care, and smooth pharmacy operations.
Main Responsibilities:- Packing and Dispensing Medications: Accurately pack and dispense medications in accordance with guidelines and protocols.
- Counseling Patients: Provide excellent patient counseling on medication use following Good Dispensing Guidelines.
- Drug Interaction Monitoring: Monitor drug interactions and escalate issues to pharmacists as necessary for patient safety.
- Inventory Management: Manage inventory levels, check expiry dates, and replenish pharmacy supplies to maintain optimal stock levels.
- IT System Operation: Operate and monitor pharmacy IT systems to ensure seamless medication management.
- Pharmacy Cleanliness: Maintain cleanliness and equipment in the pharmacy environment.
- New Team Member Orientation: Coach and orient new team members to ensure a smooth transition into the pharmacy team.
- Security and Confidentiality: Ensure the security of medications and patient information at all times.
- Quality Assurance: Contribute to quality assurance initiatives to improve pharmacy processes and patient outcomes.
- Education: A Diploma in Pharmaceutical Sciences or equivalent is preferred, or relevant pharmacy experience.
- Communication Skills: Strong communication and customer service skills are essential for effective patient care.
- Teamwork: A collaborative team player with good initiative and attention to detail is required.
