Job Title: Vessel Technical Operations Manager

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Tanker Operations Specialist to join our team at V-BUNKERS TANKERS PTE. LTD.

Job Description:

About the Role:

  • The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all technical and safety matters related to Company vessels, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards.
  • They will also be responsible for implementing technical and safety policies on these vessels, as well as carrying out repair, maintenance, and servicing work as instructed by the Technical Manager.
  • A key aspect of this role will be negotiating with Class Surveyors regarding surveys on board vessels and reporting to the Technical Manager.
  • The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects and possess good organizational skills.

Responsibilities:

  1. To superintend all technical and safety matters concerning Company vessels.
  2. To implement the technical and safety policies of the Company on these vessels.
  3. Carrying out repair, maintenance, and servicing of vessels to the instructions of the Technical Manager.
  4. Negotiating with Class Surveyors relative to the surveys on board vessels.
  5. Advising the Master and Chief Engineer of planned maintenance and maintenance work to be carried out by the ship's staff.
  6. Examining vessel's machinery spaces with reference to cleanliness and the progress of maintenance by the ship's staff.
  7. Carrying out damage surveys on vessels and completion of necessary costing, reports accounts, abstracts, etc.
  8. Proceeding to ports as may be necessary, on the instruction of the Technical Manager, for the purpose of supervising repairs and restoration of the Company's vessels and equipment.
  9. Preparation of additional proposal for new regulations fulfilment if necessary with the approval of Regulatory Authority or Recognised Organization.
  10. Ensure ship is able to fulfill the regulations as above.
  11. Liaison officer and trainer for Cadet officer from Singapore Polytechnic.
  12. When visiting a vessel or carrying out a dry-docking, he will be responsible for dealing with:
  • All technical matters locally.
  • All matters connected with the repairs, servicing and sailing of the vessel and their programming for prompt dispatch.
  • Ensuring that all his service instructions are speedily dispatched from the ship to the relevant office department or agents.
  • Carrying out a complete general inspection of the vessel and reporting to the Technical Manager on return.
  • The maintenance of safety equipment to legislative requirements and Company standards onboard vessels.
  • Submitting for approval and thereafter monitoring budgets for his area of expenditure responsibility and reporting variances.
  • Reporting relevant information to the Technical Manager regarding sea-going personnel.

Qualifications:

  • COC Class 1 or 2 holders with sailing experience on oil tankers.
  • At least 1 year's experience as a Technical Superintendent in ship management operations.
  • Foreign going Chief Engineer with sea experience preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and good organization skills.
  • Analytical, able to work independently, results-oriented, resourceful, and pro-active.

Salary: We offer a competitive salary range of SGD $100,000 - SGD $150,000 per annum, commensurate with experience.
