Dyson is seeking a highly skilled Senior Motor Drives Engineer to join our Research, Design, and Development team in Singapore.

The successful candidate will apply expertise in Electrical Machines Design, Modeling, and Simulation to develop Motor Drives solutions for Dyson's next-generation technologies and products.

  • Supporting and delivering projects from design through industrialization.
  • Translating requirements into clear deliverables at each project milestone.
  • Designing, developing, documenting, and implementing motor control algorithms.
  • Simulating and testing motor controls and electromagnetic designs.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams and external vendors on engineering design work.
About the Role

This challenging and rewarding role requires a strong background in electrical machines, motor control, power electronics, and sensing technologies. The ideal candidate will have experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) of electrical machines, proficiency in MATLAB SIMULINK, SIMSCAPE, SPICE, and code generation tools such as Embedded Coder, and statistical analysis skills using experimental and production test data.

Requirements

To be considered for this position, you must have:

  • A degree in engineering or related field, or equivalent industry experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in developing motor control algorithms and electromagnetic components for single-phase or three-phase motors.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills to collaborate across teams.
  • Ability to report progress clearly and produce high-quality documentation.
