Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Piping Engineer to join our team at Seatrium (SG) Pte. Ltd. as a Piping Operations Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of personnel in the efficient operation of piping activities onboard vessels and in workshops.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Team Management
    • Lead a team of personnel in the efficient operation of piping activities
    • Ensure that works are completed within stipulated schedules with skill, efficiency, quality, and innovative solutions
  • Safety and Compliance
    • Administer, monitor, and continuously ensure that all operations conform to safety requirements and maintain high safety standards
    • Ensure compliance with Occupational Safety and Health and Environmental Regulations and HSE operating procedures
  • Project Management
    • Plan, prioritize, and execute repair activities based on available resources and facilities
    • Coordinate and disseminate all repair activities in the repair process in a given schedule with supervisors, yardmen, and contractors
  • Communication and Liaison
    • Liaise with Shiprepair Manager/Billing Dept about variation and additional work in the scope
    • Liaise with Superintendent for critical activities for smooth operation and provide technical proposals
  • Cost Control and Reporting
    • Ensure cost control by correct Just In Time material ordering, proper manpower deployment, and reporting
    • Prevent rework and continually improve work methods to meet EVA, KPI, and Key Thrust set by the department
  • Documentation and Verification
    • Ensure all completed works are documented and verified by the client
    • Verify contractors' work completion reports as per actual work carried out
  • Asset Management and Safety
    • Ensure proper usage of department assets and report any non-conformance
    • Ensure the safety of personnel through compliance with Occupational Safety and Health and Environmental Regulations and HSE operating procedures
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • Minimum primary education with relevant working experience or diploma in Marine Engineering or Mechanical Engineering or NTC 3 certification or equivalent
  • Skills and Qualifications
    • Effective planning skills, good supervisory ability, conflict management skills, and interpersonal skills
    • Effective problem-solving and decision-making skills
    • Ability to communicate in other languages (like Mandarin, Tamil, and Malay) would be an added advantage
    • Basic knowledge on Piping Standard and Compliance with all Codes, Policies, Procedures (e.g., ASME Code for Pressure Piping B31.3, ASME IX, IACS)
