About the Role

Sunningdale Tech Ltd is seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team as an Automation Systems Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing automation systems that meet the company's production schedule and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Development: Design and develop automation machines and systems to meet project and production schedule requirements.
  • System Upgrade and Improvement: Review and upgrade existing automated production lines through root cause analysis to continuously improve production efficiency and meet new requirements.
  • Documentation and Procedures: Create, prepare, and update automation project documentation, procedures, and drawings, including Gantt charts, weekly progress reports, process/equipment flow charts, validation lists, buy-off/FAT/SAT procedures, mechanical assembly and layout drawings, electrical diagrams and wiring, I/O lists, co-robot and PLC programs, SOPs, WIs, and PM checklists.
  • Technical Solutions: Provide cost-effective technical solutions that meet customer and company needs, with attention to detail and a focus on quality.
  • Documentation Maintenance: Update and back up automation system documentation, procedures, drawings, software, co-robot, and PLC programming in a timely manner.
  • Team Collaboration: Coordinate with internal teams (BD, QC, production, maintenance) and external suppliers to ensure project success.
  • Leadership and Ownership: Demonstrate leadership and ownership to complete projects on schedule and to quality standards, supporting team members to enhance teamwork spirit.
  • Maintenance and Troubleshooting: Prepare machines for preventive maintenance, train operation and maintenance staff, and perform service and troubleshooting when requested.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
  • Education: Degree in Automation, Mechatronics, Mechanical, Electrical, or equivalent. ITE with several years' experience are welcome.
  • Project Management Experience: Experience in project management is essential.
  • Automation Engineering Experience: Experience in automation engineering system design concept and development is required.
  • System Design Experience: Experience in mechanical and pneumatic system, EOAT, fixture, and jig design is necessary.
  • Electrical and PLC Experience: Experience in electrical and PLC, co-robot, and vision control system design and programming is required.
  • Hands-on Experience: Hands-on experience in ultrasonic welding and laser marking machines testing is desirable.
  • Leadership and Teamwork: Leadership, ownership, team player, self-motivated, attention to detail, and eagerness to learn new technology are essential.
