Head of Operations

The Head of Operations plays a pivotal role in ensuring seamless integration of all systems across various checkpoints. This includes coordinating with internal and external teams to facilitate smooth operations, project management, and governance.

As the primary point-of-contact for ICA, this role oversees all systems within the checkpoints, including ICT, non-ICT, B&I, and Platform systems. Key responsibilities include:

  • Oversight of all systems in the checkpoints
  • Coordination with internal and external teams

Staff Development and Management:

The Head of Operations is responsible for building team competency and deepening specialization among ISTU staff. This involves sharing best practices, knowledge sharing, and relevant training courses to enhance staff skills and performance.

Monitoring and Tracking:

This role involves leading the team to track asset management, timelines, and budget for contract/license renewals, system upgrades, and enhancements. Key metrics include system performance, availability, response time, and turnaround time that impact ICA operations.

Governance:

The Head of Operations ensures that systems are aligned with prevailing policies and Instruction Manual standards. This involves guiding staff papers for management approvals and working with auditors to investigate audit findings.

Risk Management:

Leading the team in incident reporting, root cause analysis, and response planning is crucial in resolving issues promptly.

Qualifications:

Essential qualifications include:

  • Tertiary qualification in Computer Studies, Information Technology, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent
  • At least 10 years of Project/System Management experience
  • 5 years of staff management experience

Desirable skills include:

  • Positive and can-do attitude
  • Ability to cope with heavy workload and demonstrate integrity
  • Good interpersonal, verbal, presentation, and written communication skills
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills
