Procurement Specialist Job Description

As a Procurement Specialist, you will be responsible for effectively managing and controlling all procurement activities. Your primary goal will be to establish strong relationships with local and foreign suppliers, ensuring timely deliveries, efficient shipment arrangements, and quality management of stock, cost, product ranges, and regulatory compliance.

  • Key responsibilities include liaising with suppliers on overall purchase processes, such as delivery dates, shipment details, forwarder arrangements, and ensuring overall quality and quantity management of stock, cost, product ranges, stock rotation, turnover, and regulatory compliance.
  • You will work closely with different departments to develop demand plans and order inventory, liaise with the warehouse for incoming and outgoing shipments, calculate freight or landed costs after orders are received, build rapport with suppliers, and monitor their performance.
  • Evaluate and negotiate contract terms on pricing and product quality, conduct verification and match delivery orders, purchase orders, and other documentation for finance processing, and provide administrative support to the Purchasing/Sales Department.
  • Assist in handling inter-related companies and customers' enquiries and orders, and perform other admin ad-hoc duties related to purchasing documentation.

Required skills and qualifications:

  • Diploma or degree in Supply Chain Management, NITEC, or equivalent qualifications.
  • Strong negotiation skills and knowledge of vendor sourcing practices.
  • High level of initiative, strong interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Minimum 2 years of purchasing experience, preferably in the electronics industry.
  • Able to work well under pressure and tight deadlines.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Words, and PowerPoint.
