Position Overview: The Group Marine Manager will oversee all aspects of marine operations, including vessel management, safety protocols, regulatory compliance, and team leadership. Key Responsibilities:

  • Operational Management: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the company's fleet, ensuring optimal performance, safety, and cost-effectiveness. Develop and implement operational policies and procedures to ensure compliance with international maritime regulations. Coordinate with fleet managers, vessel captains, and crew to optimize vessel utilization and efficiency.
  • Safety & Compliance: Ensure all vessels adhere to the highest safety standards, including compliance with ISM, SOLAS, MARPOL, and other relevant maritime regulations. Lead and manage safety audits, inspections, and incident investigations, implementing corrective actions as necessary. Stay abreast of changes in maritime regulations and industry standards, ensuring the company remains compliant and competitive.
  • Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of marine professionals, fostering a culture of excellence, safety, and continuous improvement. Collaborate with HR to recruit, train, and retain top talent in the marine industry.
  • Financial Management: Prepare and manage the marine department's budget, ensuring cost-effective operations while maintaining high standards. Monitor and control operating expenses, identifying opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
  • Strategic Planning: Develop and implement long-term strategies for fleet management, including fleet renewal, modernization, and expansion. Collaborate with senior management to align marine operations with the company's overall business goals and objectives.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies, industry associations, and service providers. Represent the company at industry conferences, workshops, and meetings, promoting the company's marine operations and initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marine Engineering, Nautical Science, or a related field. A Master's degree or professional certifications (e.g., STCW, Master Mariner) is highly desirable.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in marine operations, including at least 5 years in a senior management role.
  • In-depth knowledge of international maritime regulations, safety management systems, and industry best practices.
  • Proven leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and develop a diverse team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on operational excellence and continuous improvement.
