Microbiologist Researcher Position

We are seeking a skilled Microbiologist to join our team at the School of Materials Science and Engineering at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. This is an exciting opportunity for a leading scientist with expertise in microbiology to contribute to cutting-edge research at the intersection of materials science, advanced manufacturing, robotics, and sensing.

The successful candidate will be responsible for isolating, identifying, and investigating how probiotics can impact growth rate and health of fish in the aquaculture industry. Developing and formulating encapsulation systems for the delivery of probiotics will also be part of the job scope. Conducting growth trials and challenge tests with research collaborators to understand the impact of functional fish feeds vs existing feeds will be essential.

Key Responsibilities:
  • To isolate, identify, and investigate how probiotics can impact growth rate and health of fish in the aquaculture industry.
  • Developing and formulating encapsulation systems for the delivery of probiotics.
  • Conducting growth trials and challenge tests with research collaborators to understand the impact of functional fish feeds vs existing feeds.
Requirements:
  • PhD qualification with relevant research experience in the stated fields.
  • The candidate will be hired in an aquaculture-related project funded by a government agency.
  • The candidate will work as part of a research team to provide expertise knowledge and skills in microbiology and materials science to address the hypothesis in the project.
