Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement cost-effective mechanical designs that meet client specifications and can be effectively purchased, installed, and commissioned.
  • Produce and review design deliverables, including design specifications, schedules, drawings, and calculations, with a strong understanding of CAD and BIM design.
  • Review client or third-party designs and information to determine suitability and liaise with stakeholders to obtain further information as needed.
  • Deliver projects across the complete project lifecycle, from front-end engineering design (FEED) through detailed design, technical assurance, testing, and commissioning, and final handover.
  • Rationalize designs and produce economic plant layouts.
  • Manage and monitor the work of others in the organization or project team as necessary, including checking and/or reviewing their work.
  • Prepare fee estimates, design programs, and liaise with clients to agree project deliverables.
  • Liaise with other disciplines within the organization or project team to ensure all design elements are fully integrated.
  • Carry out quality control reviews of design calculations, General Arrangement Drawings, 3D models, and Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams, TOTEX, and CAPEX, and prepare technical mechanical specification sections.
  • Ensure designs fully consider all health and safety requirements, including CDM 2015 regulations.
  • Ensure designs take full regard for all health and safety requirements.
  • Ensure designs take account of sustainability and environmental issues.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • At least 3 years of experience in mechanical design works, preferably with contractor experience.
  • Experience in water and/or wastewater treatment processes and relevant mechanical design criteria will be an advantage.
  • General experience of other discipline criteria associated with water and/or wastewater treatment, including civil, process, EICA, and project management, will be an advantage.
  • General understanding of client regulatory environments.
  • Budget management experience will be an advantage.
