About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Backend Engineer to join our team at Helius. As a key member of our development team, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable and reliable backend systems using C# and Microsoft SQL Server.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement efficient and scalable backend systems, leveraging C# and Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including AI researchers, data scientists, and frontend developers, to integrate AI-based functionalities into backend solutions.
  • Utilize Azure cloud services, including Kubernetes and AI services, to facilitate seamless application deployment and scalability.
  • Optimize Microsoft Semantic Kernel for improved data analysis and knowledge extraction.
  • Participate in code reviews, providing valuable input to ensure high-quality code and adherence to best practices.
  • Work closely with frontend developers to craft seamless user interfaces using JavaScript frameworks such as Vue or React.
  • Enhance application performance and troubleshoot backend functionality and data processing issues.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in C#, Azure services, and frontend technologies.
  • Document backend processes, APIs, and system architecture to foster internal knowledge sharing.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
  • Approximately 3 years of professional experience as a C# backend developer.
  • Expertise in C# programming and hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server databases.
  • Strong proficiency and hands-on familiarity with Azure cloud services, particularly AKS, Storage, Functions, and AI services.
  • Frontend development skills, with experience with JavaScript frameworks like Vue or React a valuable addition.
  • Exposure to Microsoft Semantic Kernel or similar tools for knowledge extraction, highly beneficial.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and version control systems like Git.
  • Understanding of software development best practices, design patterns, and data structures.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical capabilities, with a proactive approach to tackling challenges.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills, thriving in a collaborative environment.
