Software Development Specialist

We are seeking a skilled software developer to contribute to the development and maintenance of our automation platform, which supports catalyst and electrochemistry research.

The ideal candidate will have experience with data pipelines, real-time data visualization, instrument communication protocols, and IoT devices. They should also be familiar with vendor formats.

  • Collaborate with the experimental team to update the frontend based on research needs.
  • Extend the automation framework with new device adapters/servers: drivers, parsers, validation, and metadata.
  • Improve ETL reliability & schemas; implement streaming to UIs for catalyst synthesis and characterization.
  • Evoke APIs and communication protocols for the lab automation platform.
  • Containerize & CI for drivers, services, and UI.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor degree or above in Computer Science, Engineering, Material Science etc.
  • Strong Python programming skills for data/IO and API design; solid SQL knowledge.
  • Experience with datapipe and real-time data-viz (Plotly/Streamlit).
  • Good understanding of material science-related research and application of machine learning tools.

Nice to Have:

  • Electrochemistry/chromatography data familiarity; MQTT/OPC-UA/PyVISA; Grafana.
