This role is responsible for overseeing the housekeeping department, ensuring high standards of cleanliness and order in all areas of the hotel.
- Supervises and trains housekeeping attendants to maintain hotel standards, which includes providing regular feedback and coaching to improve performance.
- Develops and distributes assignment sheets to staff and reviews priorities on a daily basis.
- Monitors staff attendance records and documents any lateness or absenteeism, which can negatively impact team productivity and customer satisfaction.
- Conducts regular inspections of housekeeping attendants' carts to ensure they are properly equipped with necessary supplies, addressing technical problems as needed.
- Assigns designated keys and beepers to staff and maintains accurate records of their usage.
- Provides excellent guest service by assisting guests with requests for housekeeping items or additional supplies in a timely manner.
- Reviews status of housekeeping tasks with manager and follows up with outstanding issues to ensure complete resolution.
- Conducts regular inspections of public areas and bathrooms to ensure cleanliness levels meet or exceed hotel standards.
- Leads training sessions for staff and reports any staff disciplinary problems to superior management.
- Candidates should have a secondary education or equivalent.
- A minimum of 2 years experience in a similar job role, preferably in a hotel environment, is required.
- Familiarity with applicable sanitation standards is essential for this position.
- A strong team player with ability to work shifts, weekends, and during public holidays is necessary.
