At Novo Recruitment Solutions Pte Ltd, we are seeking a highly skilled HSEQ Director to lead our environmental safety efforts.

Job Description:

  • The role involves overseeing the development, revision, and execution of policies related to health, safety, environmental practice, and quality assurance to ensure compliance with local and global regulations in the shipping industry.
  • You will work closely with the HSEQ team to confirm pre-vetting for SIRE inspections and ensure the Marine/Technical Department resolves identified issues.
  • Risk management and assessments of daily shipping operations will be your responsibility.
  • Providing solutions and safety measures for operations, vessels, cargo, and staff is crucial in this role.
  • You will oversee adherence to applicable health, safety, environmental, and quality regulations, standards, and certifications, including the ISM Code, ISO standards, regional regulations.
  • Training and development programs for personnel on health, safety, environmental, and quality management systems will be under your purview.
  • You will organize the annual Safety Seminar for officer and shipboard personnel and manage editorial content for safety circulars and newsletters.
  • Conducting investigations into accidents, incidents, near misses, and environmental spills to determine root causes and implementing corrective measures will be essential.
  • Creating and updating emergency response plans for scenarios like oil spills, fires, collisions, groundings, and medical emergencies will require your expertise.
  • You will ensure shipping operations minimize waste, control emissions, and comply with environmental pollution controls.
  • Liaising with vendors to ensure they meet current standards and regulations is also part of the job.
  • Auditing documents for vessels and planning schedules will be necessary.
  • Monitoring and setting the budget for the HSEQ Department is another critical task.

Requirements:

  • We require at least 5 years of experience as a Superintendent in ship management and operations or a Certificate of Competency Class 3 (Deck) - or relevant qualifications.

Estimated Salary: SGD 120,000 - 150,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications. This salary range is based on industry standards and reflects the importance of this role within our organization.
