Job Title: Gasoline Desk Analyst

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled professional to oversee demurrage exposure for gasoline desk trade, analyzing and negotiating payables and receivables.

This role requires a high level of expertise in demurrage computations, timely reporting, and prompt collection of outstanding claims.

  • Oversee demurrage computations and submit reports to relevant counterparts on a regular basis.
  • E nsure prompt collection of outstanding claims and track incoming funds effectively.
  • Collaborate closely with cargo operators for efficient claims file management and documentation.
  • Generate weekly/monthly demurrage status reports and handle monthly demurrage accruals.
  • Coordinate with the contract desk on purchase and sales contracts, focusing on delivery nomination, laytime, and demurrage clauses.
  • Verify and endorse freight invoices for approval.
Responsibilities
  • Analyze and negotiate payables and receivables related to demurrage exposure.
  • Develop and implement strategies to minimize demurrage costs and maximize revenue.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports on demurrage computations and collections.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth operations and effective communication.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and regulations affecting demurrage exposure.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as finance, accounting, or logistics.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in demurrage analysis, negotiation, and collection.
  • Proven track record of success in reducing demurrage costs and improving revenue.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
